So y'all I realized I never posted one of my past OOTDs from this winter season! I have LOVED these maroon pants I got for Christmas from F21. I have found myself wearing them often (see how I styled them already on the blog HERE) as I love how they go with black or brown. In my OOTD below I paired them with a brown leather jacket from Gap and my brown leather Frye riding boots! There are some things I will hate saying goodbye to for a few months...one of them being these boots!!

Pants: F21
Leather jacket: Gap
Riding Boots: Frye
Arm Party: Stella & Dot + Stein Mart (all Christmas gifts!)

What are some of your winter items you're getting some last minute wear out of before spring arrives!?

Thanks so much for reading!

My Faves at the Oscars!

February 26, 2013

Hi dolls!

As you know, this past weekend was the 85th Academy Awards which is always one of my favorite days because it means beautiful Red Carpet celebrity fashion!!! I'm the kind of girl who thinks that Oscar Sunday is way more exciting than Super Bowl Sunday and I love seeing what all the stars are wearing. So tonight I wanted to do a list of my Red Carpet faves!!!

I absolutely LOVED Jennifer Lawrence's dramatic Dior Haute Couture gown. It showed off her awesome figure while at the same time being ultra-glamorous. I also LOVED the soft pale pink color of the dress. This dress was made for the Red Carpet!

Another favorite was Amy Adams in one of my FAVORITE gown designers Oscar de la Renta. It 's always no surprise to me when I see a gown on the Red Carpet, then hear that it's by one of my favorite dress designers (Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhuillier or Marchesa). I LOVED the sweetheart neckline and the dramatic skirt of the dress. Gorgeous!!! I just wish I had a chance to wear one of these beautiful gowns :) (PS I realize this has been on some people's worst dressed list, and I'm not crazy about the color. But I've always loved "froo-froo" gowns! haha).

Another dress I loved that was completely different than the two ball gowns above was Halle Berry's sassy Versace number! It was designed with a James Bond girl look in mind. This shoulders on the dress reminded me of a style from the 80's and I totally loved it!!!

Another one of my favorite looks of the evening did not come from the Oscars Red Carpet but was from the Vanity Fair Oscars Party!!! I LOVED Kate Beckinsale's entire look....from her adorable pony tail all the way down to her pretty strappy heels! Oh and not to mention her dress is by one of my favorites as I mentioned early, Monique Lhuillier. She looks stunning!!!

Also, if there was an award for the best hair, my choice would DEFINITELY be Reese Witherspoon. I just absolutely LOVED her retro curls!!!! She's SO gorgeous!!! (Side note: I was a little disappointed with her dress though).

Now, for worst dressed. While Amanda Seyfried usually looks so lovely and elegant, I just was not a fan of her Alexander McQueen gown at all! It was just a bit too plain and nothing super special in my opinion. She's still a gorgeous girl though :).

So fabulous readers, what were your picks for best and worst dressed?! Leave me a comment and let me know! :) Thanks so much for reading!!!

Designer Collaboration: Prabal Gurung for Target

February 9, 2013

Ok so tell me, lovely readers, am I the only one who is a total sucker for these Target, H&M, etc. collaborations with high-end designers!? Every time I hear about one I feel my knees getting weak and my pulse quicken (haha!). I immediately find myself doing an Internet search on the newest collaboration and marking my calendar for the release date (see my past obsessions with some of these previous designer collaborations HERE, HERE, and HERE). So if you haven't seen the advertisements, the latest collaboration is Prabal Gurung for Target to be released this Sunday, February 10th and after taking a peek at the look book, I'm pretty excited!!!

Prabal Gurung is a designer who came onto the fashion scene at NY Fashion week in 2009 and has had celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence, Michelle Obama, Kate Middleton, and Zoe Saldana wear his creations. I don't know about you but it makes me pretty excited that I can buy a fashion created by the same designer who has made clothes that THE Kate Middleton has worn (like the dress pictured below)!

Gurung said that most of his collection for Target was inspired by love....how Valentine's Day appropriate, no!?

Here are some of my favorite looks from the collection....

I HAVE to have this dress. It screams spring, no!? Oh and let's not forget the shoes. Swoon!

Black and white + red. My ideal outfit!

Pointy toed flat: the perfect spring shoe.
I will take a pair in every color,  please & thank you! :)

I LOVE the colors of this tote bag. How much fun is this!?

Wouldn't mind inviting these bangles to my arm party!

Did y'all check out the Nieman Marcus for Target collection this past December? I know I mentioned I bought a few pieces of it, but I was ultimately a little disappointed....they weren't as budget friendly as some of the past designer collaborations were. I'm hoping that the new Prabal Gurung line will be more affordable!!! :)

What are your faves from the collection? Will you be buying anything from this new designer collaboration!? Leave me a comment and be sure to let me know :)

Thanks so much for reading dolls!

eShakti Review: 1 Dress, 3 Ways

February 6, 2013

Happy February dolls!

I am SO very excited to share with my fabulous readers a new online women's clothing company that has been featured in Vogue, Glamour and O Magazine!! It is called eShakti that offers customized dresses, tops, skirts, cardigans, and even bridesmaids dresses. Usually customized pieces are incredibly expensive and not something that is associated with being affordable. However, eShakti is changing all of that with their line of customized clothing---nothing is stocked in a warehouse but rather every piece is customized with your body in mind!!!

I was SO excited when eShakti contacted me to order one of their clothing items for a review on my blog. Blogging has provided me with so many awesome opportunities such as this!!! I was super excited to go online and find a dress I liked. I picked a beautiful dress with a brown and black floral print. So for whichever item you chose, you can either pick a standard size or a custom size at $7.50 extra and provide all of your measurements. Regardless of if you choose a standard size (which is what I did) or a customize size, you still enter your height so your item is proportional to your body. Moreover, you can add custom styling for $7.50 more. For my dress, I adjusted the dress length to make it a short dress. The styling options depend on the clothing item but can include variations of sleeve type or neckline. They were very prompt with shipping my dress and me receiving it once I ordered it. Once it came in the mail, I was so pleased with the excellent quality!!!

Now I am excited to present to you my dress, courtesy of eShakti, and 3 ways to style it....

1) Formal Party Dress:

For this first look, I paired my dress with some pearls and heels: a dressy look to show off this awesome dress! I love this outfit for for an elegant dinner party!!!

Dress: c/o eShakti
Heels: Guess
Pearl Necklace: Stella & Dot

2) Night Out on the Town:

For a fun "night out on the town" look, I wanted to style my dress with heels again, but this time I added socks and a belt. I have really loved the look of socks with heels this winter season. It's so sassy and girly all at the same time!!! I also paired the dress with a belt for added shape. I would totally wear this out for dinner and dancing!!!

I love the detail of the neckline!

Dress: c/o eShakti
Belt: NY & Co
Heels: Guess
Socks: F21

3) Casual Chilly Day:

Oh I just love this dress because there are SO many ways you can wear it. For this look I paired it with a black cardigan, belt and my Frye riding boots. This makes the dress a bit more casual and appropriate for everyday wear.
