My Faves at the Oscars!
February 26, 2013
Hi dolls!
As you know, this past weekend was the 85th Academy Awards which is always one of my favorite days because it means beautiful Red Carpet celebrity fashion!!! I'm the kind of girl who thinks that Oscar Sunday is way more exciting than Super Bowl Sunday and I love seeing what all the stars are wearing. So tonight I wanted to do a list of my Red Carpet faves!!!
I absolutely LOVED Jennifer Lawrence's dramatic Dior Haute Couture gown. It showed off her awesome figure while at the same time being ultra-glamorous. I also LOVED the soft pale pink color of the dress. This dress was made for the Red Carpet!
Another favorite was Amy Adams in one of my FAVORITE gown designers Oscar de la Renta. It 's always no surprise to me when I see a gown on the Red Carpet, then hear that it's by one of my favorite dress designers (Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhuillier or Marchesa). I LOVED the sweetheart neckline and the dramatic skirt of the dress. Gorgeous!!! I just wish I had a chance to wear one of these beautiful gowns :) (PS I realize this has been on some people's worst dressed list, and I'm not crazy about the color. But I've always loved "froo-froo" gowns! haha).
Another dress I loved that was completely different than the two ball gowns above was Halle Berry's sassy Versace number! It was designed with a James Bond girl look in mind. This shoulders on the dress reminded me of a style from the 80's and I totally loved it!!!
Another one of my favorite looks of the evening did not come from the Oscars Red Carpet but was from the Vanity Fair Oscars Party!!! I LOVED Kate Beckinsale's entire look....from her adorable pony tail all the way down to her pretty strappy heels! Oh and not to mention her dress is by one of my favorites as I mentioned early, Monique Lhuillier. She looks stunning!!!
Also, if there was an award for the best hair, my choice would DEFINITELY be Reese Witherspoon. I just absolutely LOVED her retro curls!!!! She's SO gorgeous!!! (Side note: I was a little disappointed with her dress though).
Now, for worst dressed. While Amanda Seyfried usually looks so lovely and elegant, I just was not a fan of her Alexander McQueen gown at all! It was just a bit too plain and nothing super special in my opinion. She's still a gorgeous girl though :).
So fabulous readers, what were your picks for best and worst dressed?! Leave me a comment and let me know! :) Thanks so much for reading!!!

Favorites (and one least fave) from the Met Gala
May 8, 2012
Happy Tuesday sweethearts!
So this will prove to you that I don’t just pick my best dressed stars by who the star is….because trust me, I have NO clue who Paula Patton is (edit: looked it up and she was in the last Mission Impossible movie). But what I DO know is I LOVED her lavender-hued dress by Vera Wang (I’m starting to think Vera Wang can do no wrong). The neckline was beautiful and while the gown itself was simple the color was stunning and the lines of the dress were flattering. LOVE this!
One of fashion’s BIGGEST nights was last night… the Met Gala. This is the event where stars come in nothing but the best; you will see ALL the big names of fashion there. Being the fashion-obsessed person I am I spent my evening stalking Tweets and websites for pictures of the stars in their gowns. It’s like watching a baseball game & trying to keep score….except instead of homeruns & outs you have the best and worst dressed celebrities (making sports analogies in reference to fashion??? My efforts to keep my male readers entertained, you know I love yall too…)
So naturally today I wanted to do a recap & show you what some of MY personal faves were:
Julianne Hough:

I admit it. I am slightly obsessed with Julianne Hough (for those of you keeping track of the celebrities I have admitted being obsessed with on my blog, they are, in no particular order: Duchess of Cambridge Catherine Middleton, Angelina Jolie, and Julianne Hough). I just think she is beyond beautiful and is always so fashion-forward. (not to mention super talented…did anyone see Footloose?! That girl’s got moves!!!!!). As if her just being herself wasn’t enough to win me over to what she wore, she chose a HOT PINK dress by Carolina Herrera. AND she has cascading waves. Geeze Julianne you should play fair next time!!!!
Paula Patton:

I loved this beaded and sequined dress by Donna Karan Atelier. I love how it is fitted and the one-shoulder cut. I am also a big fan of black with gold….just the right element of glitter mixed with a basic color. This dress is so glamorous...and what girl doesn't love a lil glam!?
Camilla Belle:

Camilla Belle arrived at the Met Gala in a beaded Ralph Lauren gown that was sheer but metallic…my kind of dress! Besides wearing that beautiful dress, I thought her makeup was very flattering with her skin tone and hair color.
And the worst dressed star....
Sarah Jessica Parker
Unfortunately my least favorite/worst dressed star was Sarah Jessica Parker. I know I know, Carrie Bradshaw/SJP usually is always one of the biggest style icons of our time. So what happened at the Met Gala this year??? I just didn’t like her head-to-toe floral Valentino gown. I like floral in moderation but this seemed over-the-top and just TOO MUCH!

"You can dress to kill....whatever makes you feel like a rock star"

Hello lovelies!
To me one of the worst dressed stars of the evening was Leann Rimes. The Stella McCartney dress she wore has actually been worn by other celebrities in different color combinations but this dress just does not scream “Red Carpet” to me. I just don’t like the mesh paneling of the dress at all and think she could’ve done SO much better!
One thing I love ALMOST as much as fashion is country music. So you can probably imagine my excitement when two of my favorite things were brought together Sunday night at the Academy of Country Music Awards (ACMs)! I LOVE checking out the Red Carpet fashion so I thought I would share with you my selections for the best (and worst) dressed!!!
It’s inevitable: whenever Carrie Underwood is on the Red Carpet she is going to ALWAYS look GORGEOUS! So naturally to start my Best Dressed list I will begin with Carrie who wore a gown by Abed Mahfouz and shoes by Oscar de la Renta. It was simply elegant but had that slit up the side that added some hotness!!

Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland took the color blocking and bright colors trend for spring to the Red Carpet in her self-described “watermelon Jolly Rancher” Max Azria Atelier gown. I loved the color combination of pink with neon yellow. This was definitely one of my favorites of the night.

My final pick for Best Dressed was Nicole Kidman (wife of country music superstar Keith Urban). I think she is probably one of the most beautiful women in general and last night was no exception! Her black L’Wren Scott gown was also on point with the spring trend of longer hemlines in skirts and dresses. Not to mention those red strappy L’Wren Scott sandals…red + black is always a great classic color combination!

I just don’t feel like it’s right to end this post on that picture of Leann Rimes, so I’m going to instead include my first ever Best Dressed MAN in my blog!!! Of course the award goes to the one and only Kenny Chesney. Last night he performed a new song with Tim Mcgraw (pictured on the left) that was the inspiration for the title of this post. He wore his classic straw cowboy hat, cut off tank top, tight jeans and cowboy boots. However if I’m being honest I don’t care one single bit what he wears; he has been and always will be my favorite country music artist for obvious reasons:

The Best & Worst Dressed at the Golden Globes
January 18, 2012
Good morning dolls! I hope everyone is having a great week so far!
And finally, the star who I thought was worst dressed was Natalie Portman. She is usually one of my Red Carpet favorites, but I was not feeling this dress by Lanvin. To me it seemed too "prom-y" and not glamorous enough for the Red Carpet. Also the bustle on the side of the dress was not very flattering (I hope this isn't a new trend because I don't like it at all! haha). Definitely my least favorite!
Sunday night was a big evening for fashion when the 69th annual Golden Globe Awards were held in California! I LOVE award season mainly for the sole purpose of checking out who wears what on the Red Carpet (I guess it’s pretty cool to see who wins what award too, lol). So today I thought I would share with you who I thought was best dressed…and my pick for worst dressed!
Best Dressed:

| In my opinion, the best dressed star of the evening was by far Angelina Jolie. She is the definition of beauty & grace. She was no exception here in this ivory dress by Atelier Versace. I adore the red details in her dress, clutch & lipstick! Image source here I am OBSESSED with mermaid style dresses! Sofia Vergara looks stunning in this gown by Vera Wang and I also love the deep royal blue color. Her side-swept hair makes this an extra glam look! Image source here
Image source here One of the big trends on the Red Carpet was nude colored dresses. Kate Beckinsale is stunning in this strapless gown by Roberto Cavalli. I also love her jewelry....look at those earrings!!! Image source here |
