Happy FriYAY friends!

Who else thinks that FRY-day is the perfect excuse to eat some fries from Chick-fil-A!? I literally had that conversation with my Mom today in the drive-through line; I feel like it's pretty sound logic-haha! 😜   Ok back to this blog post.....

I'm super excited to share this look with y'all tonight on the blog. Last weekend it was a SUPER chilly, rainy, and dreary Saturday so I was ready to brighten it up by breaking out this beautiful mustard yellow chunky knit from H&M. If you follow me on Instagram HERE, you know that my local hometown of Chattanooga had its grand opening for a new H&M store yesterday. I arrived 2 hours before the opening and it was definitely a big party, there was a DJ and even cookie cake! Talk about fun! H&M is one of my all-time favorite go-to stores for budget friendly, yet on trend fashion.

I actually bought the sweater in this #ootd from the H&M in Charleston, SC on our trip and it was $34.99. So I am in looooove with this sweater for many reasons....the first being the COLOR: mustard yellow is one of my faves for fall (as you can tell in this post here and here). I also love that it's a chunky knit so it's cozy and perfect for colder weather. Moreover - the length is PERFECT! It is long enough to cover your hips, and perfectly acceptable to wear with leggings. The ideal sweater, right!?

Since it was raining, I completed my rainy day style with 2 must-have accessories: a beanie and my favorite rain boots. This beanie was a hit last year and I'm happy to say it's back (and fully in stock!) again this season. A beanie is a must for a rainy day to hide any frizz that sometimes my hair likes to have in the rain, haha! Also, a rainy day is the perfect excuse to wear one of my favorite pairs of Hunter rain boots. I also love the boot socks with them; they are fleece so they are extra toasty for a chilly fall day!

Thank you SO much for stopping by and reading! I hope y'all have a FABULOUS weekend!!

XOXO,
Ashley

Long time no post!

You'll have to forgive my absence! I've been super busy with nursing school lately (only 59 days until graduation, but who's counting?!) and honestly I haven't been getting as dressed up since I've spent so many days working at the hospital this past month. Now that clinicals are over I will (hopefully) have time to dress up & take pics more! :) So, I don't know about y'all but I am ready for spring! The weather in TN has been crazy lately with snow but yesterday was one of the first days it was actually "warmer" (in the 50s!) so I was able to wear a light cardigan & not freeze to death. I absolutely love this hot pink cardigan I'm wearing above from J.Crew Factory (You need one in every color don't ya think!?). Even though it was warmer...it was still rainy. Thank goodness for Hunter boots to stay dry (yet fashionable!).

Thanks so much for reading dolls!

Red, Black & Leopard Print!

October 10, 2014

{Outfit Details}
Top: Piko 1988 (here)
Hat: Target (no longer online, similar here)
Boots: Hunter (they no longer have my exact color available but also love this red here)
Tights: Charlotte Russe (love them! Available here)
Scarf: H&M (not online, similar here)

Happy Friday (& Happy October...sorry for the lack of blog posts lately; life's got me busy!). I wore the outfit above to class one day this week & it's definitely going to be one of my go-to looks for fall. Ever since my Nana bought me these red Hunter boots for Christmas last year, they have quickly become one of my favorite wardrobe staples. If you don't have a pair of Hunters I highly recommend them. I love all the colors they come in and they're super comfortable for rainy days (or just when you want to add a pop of color to your outfit!). I'm also wearing a tunic top by Piko 1988. One of my BFFs introduced me to these amazingly soft, comfy & cute tops last week on a shopping trip. In fact I ended up buying 3 because I love them so much. They are perfect for layering with tights & accessorizing with boots, scarves, & hats.

"Leopard Print is a Neutral"

June 1, 2014

Hi dolls!!

So what does a fashionista wear for a casual Friday night out to dinner?? Leopard print rain boots, of course :). As the title of my post says, I firmly believe that "leopard print is a neutral." I mean think about it....it's brown, black and tan all in 1 pattern...all neutrals! So when you think about it as a neutral it really does go with a lot. Of course I like mixing it with one other main statement color (such as RED, oh I love leopard print & red. See how I styled leopard & red before on the blog here)! In my OOTN below, I chose to make my rain boots "summer-y" by pairing them with white! :) I then played off the neutrals and paired it with a black sheer shirt & gold accessories (one of which is a gold necklace that was my Nana's that she gave to me! I sure do love wearing her jewelry. I have one fashionable Nana!). Hope you enjoy!....

Jeans: Gap Outlet (love these and for another look I love these)
Blouse: Forever 21 (cute black sheer top here)
Rain boots: Coach (not online, these are cute!)
Belt: Vintage (Love this Ralph Lauren one!)
Necklace: Vintage (this one here is SO fabulous!)
Bracelets: Chain link-Target (not online anymore but J.Crew version is here), Spike bracelet-Stella & Dot (here), & bangle (vintage, but love this Kate Spade one here)

Also, I wanted to share with y'all one of my BFF's IRL (in real life) has started a fashion blog now! I'm so so excited we can also be blogging friends as well :) She has such cute style & is so sweet! Check her blog out HERE!

Thanks so much for reading y'all! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend :)

Rainy Day Calls for Hunter Boots!

January 6, 2014

Hi there fabulous readers!

I hope y'all have had a great weekend. Sooo we have had some coooooooold weather this past week in Tennessee and tonight through Tuesday it's supposed to be even colder, which honestly I haven't been too upset about because I'm getting a chance to wear one of my Christmas presents! My sweet Nana gave me some Hunter boots for Christmas and I am in L-O-V-E. I debated whether I should get the classic black or bright red but I finally decided that the bright, glossy red (in Hunter it's "Pillar Box Red") would be MUCH more fun for a rainy day. I have always loved adding a pop of red to an outfit so I thought these would be perfect. So needless to say, I was super excited to be able to wear my Hunter boots when it rained this past week! Here's how my rainy day look turned out....

Boots: Hunter (HERE)
Sweater: Forever 21 (no longer available online, similar here)
Leggings: New Balance
Hat: Forever 21 (not online, similar style here)
Jewelry: Charming Charlie's; Stella & Dot (here)

I hope everyone stays warm if it's cold in your neck of the woods! :)

XOXO
Ashley
