Oprah---er--- Ashley's Favorite Things!!
December 17, 2012
Hi dolls!
Can you believe there are only 7 shopping days left until Christmas?! If you're anything like me, you may be really close to being done but still need to pick up a few last minute things. With that in mind, I thought I would create a list of my 10 FAVORITE things from this year. While I wish I could give all my sweet readers each item on my Favorite Things List just like Oprah, these pictures will have to suffice :)....
1. Lifeproof iPhone Case: $69.99
The background story behind my amazing Lifeproof iPhone Case is rather, well...embarrassing :). I purchased this pretty little case after I dropped my iPhone in the.....wait for it.....toilet. Yes, you read that right.... the toilet. After retrieving my iPhone and drying it off, it magically still worked. That was when I knew I needed a case that would protect it no matter the conditions it finds itself (I ALWAYS manage to drop my phone. Although it WAS the first time it's found its way into the toilet! ha!). I was originally thinking of an Otter Box, but when I went into Mac Authority they recommended a Life Proof case because it was much thinner, lighter, and was WATER proof (aka toilet proof) and SHOCK proof (aka ASHLEY proof). I couldn't be happier with this case! I mean seriously....I can text or answer important phone calls IN THE SHOWER. And not to mention how AWESOME this case will be next summer at the beach! This would be a great gift for anyone with an iPhone who may just be as clumsy as me :) They are also available for the iPhone 5 now!
Check these cases out HERE!!!
2. Forever Red Shower Gel by Bath & Body Works: $18
So my sweet bf got me this body wash for our anniversary, and LET ME TELL YOU this stuff is AMAZING. It smells fantastic and it makes your skin so very soft! The scent also stays with you all day; just what I love about a body wash! This will be the perfect gift for any lady on your shopping list :)
Check it out HERE!!!
3. Bath & Body Works Body Butter: $15
I have tried SO many different lotions from Bath & Body Works, but the body butter is my hands-down favorite. It has shea and murumuru butters AND coconut oil....super luxurious but non-greasy and lightweight. I love applying right out of the shower for the ultimate moisturizing treat that for real keeps my skin moisturized all day long! :)
View all of the collection HERE {I definitely recommend the fragrance Secret Wonderland-it's delightful!}
4. Forever 21 scarf: $8.80
I bought a lime green scarf I wore on Thanksgiving from Forever 21 for under $10 and I just LOVE it. It's so cozy, warm and adds an instant pop of color to any ensemble (also available in pink, coral, blue, and black). This would make such a perfect gift for any special lady on your list at a very reasonable price!
Check out my favorite F21 scarf online HERE!
5. Marc Nelson Denim T-Shirt: $35-$50.
I firmly believe that every fashionista should own a few basic, solid colored t-shirts. They are SO versatile and can be worn with multiple ensembles: layered under a blazer, paired with a scarf, or worn as the perfect backdrop for your statement jewelry. With this in mind, I'm so happy to say that one brand of t-shirts I LOVE is Marc Nelson Denim. My favorite style is the women's vee (for $39.99 here). For just a reminder on how much I love them, HERE is the post when I paired mine with a scarf & ballet bun for a casual fall day....
Check out MND women's shirts HERE!
6. Clarisonic Mia brush: $119
If you remember my Christmas recap post from last year HERE, my Nana got me a Clarisonic Mia brush which I absolutely have LOVED ever since I got it a year ago. It is perfect for deep-cleaning and removing ALL of my makeup. It also makes my face supaaa smooth.
Check it out at Sephora online HERE {available in SO many adorable colors!}
7. Naked 2 Eye Palette: $50
Before I bought both the Naked 1 and 2 eye palettes this past February (read about that experience HERE), I was always in search of different eyeshadows and would use many different kinds. However, 10 months later and I am STILL hooked on these eye palettes! If you only get one, I find myself using Naked 2 Eye Palette the most. I absolutely LOVE the shades for EVERY occasion: day and night. They help you create the PERFECT smokey eye! Ahhhh in love!
Check it out HERE!
8. Crafts & Love Jewelry: Range in Prices!
I am SO sad to say that I have yet to be able to recover my blog post that I wrote about Crafts and Love Jewelry so I can't link back to it, but I wanted to share some of my pictures from that post and say that it is DEFINITELY on my favorites list this year. If you remember, this jewelry line was started by one of my friends and girls I graduated high school with, Courtney. She is a doll and the jewelry is fabulous. I absolutely love the Abebe statement gold bib necklace {pictured below}. If you want to order something for yourself or as a gift, be sure to do so soon as the shop will be closed December 21st to January 1st. I know I have ordered a couple of Christmas gifts for my family this year! She has some BEAUTIFUL pieces! :)
Check out Crafts and Love's Jewelry Etsy store HERE!
9. Longchamp Bag: "Le Pliage" Line: $100
When my sweet bf returned from his summer studying abroad in Paris, he brought me back the perfect gift....a Longchamp bag in the "Le Pliage" line. When he gave it to me, I had NO idea how much I would fall in love with it! It's seriously the PERFECT bag and I have been carrying it since this summer. Yes, I am the girl that carries her LIFE in her purse {and yes, I hate to admit it probably weighs 15 pounds....} and this bag can not only hold everything but is super comfortable to carry my life in-HAHA! It also comes in a variety of colors which is also a huge bonus! Here is how I wore it this summer....
Check out the Le Pliage line HERE!
10. Nail polish: James Bond Collection: Approx $8 a bottle
Finally, a Favorite Things List from this makeup, clothes and NAIL POLISH obsessed girl would NOT be complete without featuring my favorite nail polish collection of 2012. While there were MANY nail polishes I tried all year long, my favorite was released this by OPI this holiday season: the James Bond Collection. The shades were stunning and had a little something for everyone (and to last you the whole holiday). Be sure to read my post about it HERE!
I hope this list of my favorite things might give y'all some last minute Christmas gift ideas! :)
Thank you SO much as always for reading, dolls!!
XOXO

New Beauty Obsession: Bath Junkie!
March 20, 2012
Good afternoon dolls and Happy Tuesday!
After deciding which fragrance combinations you like, there are still more decisions to make because you then must choose what product you want! That’s right…you can get pretty much ANY product you can imagine in your customized scent: from lotions to body washes to body scrubs. Can you say AMAZING?! Here is the display of all the items to choose from….
While the decision was tough, I decided to get one of their best selling products, the “Body Dessert Shea Butter Allover Conditioner.” It’s basically a leave-in body conditioner which you apply in the shower but do not rinse off. It leaves your skin SO smooth…I really am enjoying it so far & can already tell a big difference in the way my skin feels!!!! Anyway, once you pick which product you want, you bring the EMPTY container to the area where they create your product right there fresh in the store for you!!!
You pick your color (nothing but PINK for me of course) and in the process of it being made, they will let you smell it to make sure it’s strong enough and if not you can add more of whichever scent you want! They then mix the product in a blender and after making a CUSTOMIZED label….you have your finished product:
Is it just me, or have you ever dreamed of designing your own signature fragrance???
I mean how FABULOUS would it be to design your OWN signature scent like Taylor Swift, Sarah Jessica Parker, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Rihanna, J.Lo and the countless other celebrities who have their own perfume line?? Well this past weekend my dreams became a reality when I stepped foot inside a little slice of heaven called “Bath Junkie”!
“Bath Junkie” is a chain that recently opened in Chattanooga TN (my hometown) and I finally made my way inside this weekend. To say the least I was VERY impressed!
The first sight you see when you enter is this colorful rainbow display of fragrances….all meant for you to mix together. The different colors represent different “categories” of flavors to help you pinpoint the scents you might like to combine (some of the many categories include florals, fruits, citrus, etc) and within each category are TONS of scents to choose from as you can see below:
SO many scents to choose from!
If the thought of figuring out which fragrance to make overwhelms you, there is a “menu” provided which has some of their most popular combinations. If you have the time, however, it’s so much fun to mix and match and see what scent you like the best. So each little bottle is filled with different scented oil and to make your own scent, you take a strip of cloth and place a drop of the 2-3 scents you like…then rub the oil drops together.
The display of products available! Pretty much anything you could think of!
Where your customized product is made!
My favorite combination was cupcake + blackberry sage. It’s fruity and girly! :)
Bath Junkie is a fabulous store!!!! I can’t wait to go back and make more items in my customized scent (cupcake + blackberry sage….or maybe even something else!?)
Visit the Bath Junkie website HERE where you can find a location nearest you!!!!
Thank you SO much for reading!!! Hope y’all are having a great week!

Ashley

January 13, 2012
Hello dolls!
Click HERE to check out the entire Skinnygirl Face & Body Collection!!!
One of my guilty pleasures in life is the “Real Housewives” series on Bravo. I have seen all the seasons but one of my absolute FAVES is the RHO New York!!! And from NY comes my absolute FAVORITE housewife of all time: the one and only Bethenny Frankel. She is witty, sassy, smart, and is a VERY successful business woman. If you’re not familiar with her, she has her own line of Skinnygirl Margaritas and has branched out to make other drinks as well. SOOO as one of her biggest fans you can imagine my excitement when I learned she was expanding her empire and venturing into skincare! She released a Skinnygirl Face & Body collection exclusively at Wal-Mart (which is AWESOME because the prices are very reasonable) the day after Christmas. So naturally I had to run out to Wal-Mart to check it out….(::cough:: ….and pose for pictures by the display to post on my blog… ::cough::)
Instead of typing out all the things I love about this line and my favorite products from it, I thought I would actually SHOW you in a video blog (VLOG)...(PS thanks YouTube for this lovely screen shot lol):
*****NOTE: the hacker deleted my YouTube account as well. I will have to re-upload this video to YouTube. Thank you for your patience!!!

Buy here: Bath & Body Works Gift Set

This is something I bought for some of my BFF’s from college!! They are actually slipper socks so they have grippers on the bottom so you can wear them without worrying about sliding around. They are available at Target and are TOO cute:

2) E.L.F. makeup at Target:
I have blogged about how much I love the makeup line E.L.F before and Target has the CUTEST E.L.F. gift sets out right now at very reasonable price points. I snapped a few pictures in my local target the other day of some of my favorites:
3) The Dreamer Flannel Pajama from Victoria’s Secret:
I recently bought myself a pair of these PJ’s for my upcoming trip to Disney World and they are absolutely AMAZING! They are everything I look for in pajamas: comfortable, cozy and stylish. I have the following pair in pink metallic stripe:

My New Favorite Scents
September 23, 2011
Hello daaaahlings! So since I love all things girly, not just fashion, I also want to include some posts about beauty (makeup, nail polish, perfumes, etc). So I want to start out by talking about PERFUME! I absolutely LOVE a good perfume, but I like to change my scent often. I can never commit to just one scent…which leads to me having many half used bottles. I just love SO many! For the past couple of years I’ve been wearing Dior’s “J’Adore.” I really like this scent (maybe it’s just because I love Charlize Theron’s commercial for this perfume or maybe because I took French for so many years that I love the name…or maybe because it smells great too!). "J'Adore" was working fine for me until a little perfume called "Wonderstruck" (by Taylor Swift) entered the picture.
So let me tell you all the things I love about it….
The dress, the chandeliers, the greenery in the background…she looks super “wonderstruck” if you ask me!!! It may be silly but I feel like how a perfume is marketed really adds to my enjoyment of it. I like to think that when I wear this perfume I can be as confident as Taylor is in that dress!!!
I only wish my blog was 4D so you could smell these wonderful fragrances!!!
Leave me a comment & tell me, what’s your favorite scent?! I'd also love it if you became a follower of my blog!! I’m headed off to Atlanta this weekend to visit my beautiful college roomie and to go SHOPPING!!! Nothing beats Atlanta shopping; definitely expect a blog post on that! I hope you dolls have a fabulous weekend!!!
I know what you’re thinking, why am I doing ANOTHER post on something related to Taylor Swift?! I promise despite what it may look like, I’m really NOT that obsessed with her. Well, maybe just a little….BUT, I promise every post won’t be about her, just a coincidence that I happened to open the Belk catalogue the week after I went to the Taylor Swift concert and there was a sample of her brand new perfume Wonderstruck. I have been DYING to smell her new perfume and was so excited to try it (no, of course it’s not because I am obsessed with her! Haha). Let me just tell you it is AMAZING!!!! So amazing I had to go to the store the next day and buy some (and it also just so happened to be a great time to buy b/c Belk is having a deal until Oct 1st where you get a free pink, silver or blue sequined makeup train case with your purchase. I love that the United States is, as Elle Woods put it, "the land of the free gift with purchase”)
So let me tell you all the things I love about it….
1) THE SMELL. Ok, I guess that’s an important quality of a perfume, but I seriously can’t get enough of this stuff! It’s described as “a charming and sparkling surprise of vibrant fruits, kissed by a bouquet of soft petals and a touch of sweet indulgence.” Fruits, petals, and indulgence?! Sign me up!!!! SOOOO girly…which is what I love: a very girly, feminine scent!
2) THE NAME. Oh how I love how creative Ms. Swift is!!! She’s so poetic with words and of course I would expect nothing less than a super cute & creative name for her perfume. Wonderstruck comes from a line in Taylor’s song “Enchanted”: “I’m wonderstruck blushing all the way home, I’ll spend forever wondering if you knew, I was enchanted to meet you….” Can we say ADORABLE?! I love how the name conjures up images of romance and fairy tales.
3) THE PERFUME AD. Ok so maybe this has nothing to do with the perfume itself and more about Taylor Swift (again, not that obsessed) but…have you seen the ad for this!?!? Here it is:
And here is a “teaser” video showing a clip of her new TV commercial:
The dress, the chandeliers, the greenery in the background…she looks super “wonderstruck” if you ask me!!! It may be silly but I feel like how a perfume is marketed really adds to my enjoyment of it. I like to think that when I wear this perfume I can be as confident as Taylor is in that dress!!!
Another scent I’m obsessed with is this body lotion from Bath & Body Works…it’s a new collection called “Paris Amour”. I’ll admit it might have been the gorgeous pink bottle with the Eiffel Tower on it that drew me to smell it in the first place…but once I did I fell in LOVE! Described as a "blend of French tulips, apple blossoms and sparkling pink champagne," it was "inspired by a romantic stroll through the streets of Paris." How could you not love it?! I hope it complements “Wonderstruck” well and that I can wear this lotion & perfume when I take my next romantic stroll through Paris.
Xoxo,
Ashley
