Happy Thursday dolls!
I hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL week! This week has been busy with studying for my FNP boards which I will take next month, but I am SO thankful for this time to study. God is good!!!
So right now, while I am taking a study break watching my fave show (Big Brother! Anyone else a fan!?), I wanted to write a blog post to share this #ootd that features one of my favorite new tops!
This top I originally blogged about HERE, and is one from the super cute and fashion-forward Who What Wear line available at Target. I love this top for MANY reasons....1) it's off the shoulder (OTS) which is one of my favorite styles; 2) I love the bell sleeves which add some flare to a top; 3) it's black & white gingham. Need I say more? 4) It is the perfect fall transition piece: wear it now as I am above, wear it later with some boots, jacket & scarf. I also love the Free People jeans I'm wearing above. They were a new purchase from a super cute little boutique in The Gulch in Nashville. I found the exact pair on Nordstrom's site so I linked it above. I know I will get a lot of use out of them this fall! Also......can't finish this blog post without mentioning how much I am in love with the Marc Fisher booties I'm wearing in this outfit. I originally bought this exact pair in cognac from TJ Maxx, and when I found the black pair from DSW I knew I had to have them...lol. Bonus, they are currently on sale! Who else buys something they like in multiple colors!?
Of course you have to top off a black & white look with a bold red lip, right ladies!? This pretty lip color I'm wearing above is by Lipsense in the shade Blu-Red. It LITERALLY lasts all...day...long! I am SO amazed at the quality of this product and how well it lasts (even through a meal!). I am thinking of doing a tutorial + video review on this product, is that something y'all would be interested in!? Send me a message on Instagram here, or e-mail me at ashleyspassionforfashion@gmail.com and let me know!
I hope y'all have a wonderful rest of your evening! Thank you SO very much for stopping by, as always!!!
XOXO
AshleyOprah---er--- Ashley's Favorite Things!!
December 17, 2012
Hi dolls!
Can you believe there are only 7 shopping days left until Christmas?! If you're anything like me, you may be really close to being done but still need to pick up a few last minute things. With that in mind, I thought I would create a list of my 10 FAVORITE things from this year. While I wish I could give all my sweet readers each item on my Favorite Things List just like Oprah, these pictures will have to suffice :)....
1. Lifeproof iPhone Case: $69.99
The background story behind my amazing Lifeproof iPhone Case is rather, well...embarrassing :). I purchased this pretty little case after I dropped my iPhone in the.....wait for it.....toilet. Yes, you read that right.... the toilet. After retrieving my iPhone and drying it off, it magically still worked. That was when I knew I needed a case that would protect it no matter the conditions it finds itself (I ALWAYS manage to drop my phone. Although it WAS the first time it's found its way into the toilet! ha!). I was originally thinking of an Otter Box, but when I went into Mac Authority they recommended a Life Proof case because it was much thinner, lighter, and was WATER proof (aka toilet proof) and SHOCK proof (aka ASHLEY proof). I couldn't be happier with this case! I mean seriously....I can text or answer important phone calls IN THE SHOWER. And not to mention how AWESOME this case will be next summer at the beach! This would be a great gift for anyone with an iPhone who may just be as clumsy as me :) They are also available for the iPhone 5 now!
Check these cases out HERE!!!
2. Forever Red Shower Gel by Bath & Body Works: $18
So my sweet bf got me this body wash for our anniversary, and LET ME TELL YOU this stuff is AMAZING. It smells fantastic and it makes your skin so very soft! The scent also stays with you all day; just what I love about a body wash! This will be the perfect gift for any lady on your shopping list :)
Check it out HERE!!!
3. Bath & Body Works Body Butter: $15
I have tried SO many different lotions from Bath & Body Works, but the body butter is my hands-down favorite. It has shea and murumuru butters AND coconut oil....super luxurious but non-greasy and lightweight. I love applying right out of the shower for the ultimate moisturizing treat that for real keeps my skin moisturized all day long! :)
View all of the collection HERE {I definitely recommend the fragrance Secret Wonderland-it's delightful!}
4. Forever 21 scarf: $8.80
I bought a lime green scarf I wore on Thanksgiving from Forever 21 for under $10 and I just LOVE it. It's so cozy, warm and adds an instant pop of color to any ensemble (also available in pink, coral, blue, and black). This would make such a perfect gift for any special lady on your list at a very reasonable price!
Check out my favorite F21 scarf online HERE!
5. Marc Nelson Denim T-Shirt: $35-$50.
I firmly believe that every fashionista should own a few basic, solid colored t-shirts. They are SO versatile and can be worn with multiple ensembles: layered under a blazer, paired with a scarf, or worn as the perfect backdrop for your statement jewelry. With this in mind, I'm so happy to say that one brand of t-shirts I LOVE is Marc Nelson Denim. My favorite style is the women's vee (for $39.99 here). For just a reminder on how much I love them, HERE is the post when I paired mine with a scarf & ballet bun for a casual fall day....
Check out MND women's shirts HERE!
6. Clarisonic Mia brush: $119
If you remember my Christmas recap post from last year HERE, my Nana got me a Clarisonic Mia brush which I absolutely have LOVED ever since I got it a year ago. It is perfect for deep-cleaning and removing ALL of my makeup. It also makes my face supaaa smooth.
Check it out at Sephora online HERE {available in SO many adorable colors!}
7. Naked 2 Eye Palette: $50
Before I bought both the Naked 1 and 2 eye palettes this past February (read about that experience HERE), I was always in search of different eyeshadows and would use many different kinds. However, 10 months later and I am STILL hooked on these eye palettes! If you only get one, I find myself using Naked 2 Eye Palette the most. I absolutely LOVE the shades for EVERY occasion: day and night. They help you create the PERFECT smokey eye! Ahhhh in love!
Check it out HERE!
8. Crafts & Love Jewelry: Range in Prices!
I am SO sad to say that I have yet to be able to recover my blog post that I wrote about Crafts and Love Jewelry so I can't link back to it, but I wanted to share some of my pictures from that post and say that it is DEFINITELY on my favorites list this year. If you remember, this jewelry line was started by one of my friends and girls I graduated high school with, Courtney. She is a doll and the jewelry is fabulous. I absolutely love the Abebe statement gold bib necklace {pictured below}. If you want to order something for yourself or as a gift, be sure to do so soon as the shop will be closed December 21st to January 1st. I know I have ordered a couple of Christmas gifts for my family this year! She has some BEAUTIFUL pieces! :)
Check out Crafts and Love's Jewelry Etsy store HERE!
9. Longchamp Bag: "Le Pliage" Line: $100
When my sweet bf returned from his summer studying abroad in Paris, he brought me back the perfect gift....a Longchamp bag in the "Le Pliage" line. When he gave it to me, I had NO idea how much I would fall in love with it! It's seriously the PERFECT bag and I have been carrying it since this summer. Yes, I am the girl that carries her LIFE in her purse {and yes, I hate to admit it probably weighs 15 pounds....} and this bag can not only hold everything but is super comfortable to carry my life in-HAHA! It also comes in a variety of colors which is also a huge bonus! Here is how I wore it this summer....
Check out the Le Pliage line HERE!
10. Nail polish: James Bond Collection: Approx $8 a bottle
Finally, a Favorite Things List from this makeup, clothes and NAIL POLISH obsessed girl would NOT be complete without featuring my favorite nail polish collection of 2012. While there were MANY nail polishes I tried all year long, my favorite was released this by OPI this holiday season: the James Bond Collection. The shades were stunning and had a little something for everyone (and to last you the whole holiday). Be sure to read my post about it HERE!
I hope this list of my favorite things might give y'all some last minute Christmas gift ideas! :)
Thank you SO much as always for reading, dolls!!

Urban Decay Naked Eye Palettes 1 & 2 Review
April 1, 2012
Happy April 1st!
Pros of Naked 2:
I hope everyone is having a splendid weekend. I thought I would do a little beauty product review of some eyeshadow palettes and mascara I am currently obsessed with & have been using the past month!
At the end of February I went to Ulta Beauty Supply (one of my fave stores for makeup besides Sephora) with one mission in mind: to pick up one of the Urban Decay Naked or Naked 2 eye shadow palettes. I have heard so much hype over the years about these great eye shadows but I had yet to buy one. However with a $50 Ulta gift card I received from a best friend for Christmas I thought this would be the perfect time to try one of these palettes out!
So I went in to Ulta and this is what I see when I try to decide which color to get…
Two AMAZINGLY pretty palettes with beautiful colors!!! Oh no! I thought it would be an easy and obvious decision but that was not the case. To help me solve my dilemma, I did what any social media fashionista would do: I decided I would ask my Twitter followers for their help! Well Urban Decay saw my Tweet and re-tweeted it for all of THEIR almost 90,000 followers!!!! How helpful was that!?
Suddenly I started getting Tweets from people all over the country giving me advice….and the majority said….
“BUY BOTH!”
With my $50 gift card and not being able to turn down great advice I decided that it would be the best option to just get both!!! So buying both is what I did….
After using both now the past weeks, I can TOTALLY understand why people said to buy both. While the colors may look similar they are definitely different, so I thought I would share with you my favorite looks from Naked & Naked 2 and try to point out what I like about each of the palettes.
Here are the colors in the original Naked palette (with hearts marking my favorites)….

| From left to right: FAVE-Virgin, FAVE-Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, FAVE-Half Baked, Smog, FAVE-Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep, Gunmetal |
PROS of Naked palette:
-Long-lasting (I put this on in the morning & still there after a long day).
-It offers an extra grey/black shade that the Naked 2 palette does not have.
-More bronze & gold colors which are beautiful!
-While both palettes could be used for evening, it seems that Naked leans more towards evening wear because of the shimmery shades (especially a shade like Sidecar with lots of glitter!)
-While both palettes could be used for evening, it seems that Naked leans more towards evening wear because of the shimmery shades (especially a shade like Sidecar with lots of glitter!)
Here are the colors in the Naked 2 palette….

| From left to right: Foxy, Half Baked, FAVE-Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, FAVE-Verve, FAVE-YDK, Busted, Blackout |
Pros of Naked 2:
-I like the eyeliner “Blackout” better than the eyeliner in Naked called “Creep.” It is darker black without the shimmer which I prefer.
-The eye brush included is double-sided as opposed to the one in the Naked palette, with one side made for the crease and the other for use all-over the lid.
-It is also long-lasting like the Naked shades.
-The mirror is SO much better which comes in handy when traveling.
In conclusion, while you can’t go wrong with either palette, Naked 2 is my absolute favorite. Both are fabulous but I find myself using the Naked 2 palette more.
Have any of y’all tried the Urban Decay Naked eye shadow palettes? What do you think? Check out the Naked Palette HERE and the Naked 2 Palette HERE.
Thanks so much for reading dolls!!!

A Beauty Investment Worth Making
November 2, 2011
Happy November! Tonight I wanted to share with you one of the best investments I ever made….way back in the SEVENTH grade. This was the grade I was in when my mom took me to have a makeup lesson at the Trish McEvoy makeup counter and what an invaluable lesson it turned out to be! I STILL use the techniques I learned way back when and tonight I wanted to show you the best investment we made that day: makeup brushes.
Brush #11 Precise Eye Lining
For your face:
Thank you SO much for reading!!!
Good quality makeup brushes can be very expensive but are totally worth it. While expensive upfront, the years of use you get out of good quality makeup brushes far exceeds the initial cost. I've used mine now for TEN years & they are still in excellent condition. To maintain your makeup brushes for years to come, use a makeup brush bath (I use the Trish McEvoy brand: Trish McEvoy Brush Bath).
So if you’re in need of some good makeup brushes, the following are my favorite:
For your eyes:
Brush #10 Eye Shadow Brush
I use this brush to put on my base eye shadow shade all over the entire eyelid and brow bone. I usually use a light, shimmery color to highlight my brow bone and this brush allows for easy all-over application.

| Image via: |
Brush #29 Tapered Blending
This brush is perfect for applying eye shadow. I use this on my eyelid to apply my color of choice (usually a brown shade) and it is also perfect for applying a contrasting shade in your crease.
![]() |
| $32. Buy here: Brush 29 Tapered Blending |
This is the brush that inspired me to write this post (this brush is featured in the November issue of Lucky magazine! Like I said, a good brush is DEFINITELY worth the investment. I mean the exact brush I bought 10 years ago is in a 2011 magazine!) If you only buy ONE makeup brush this is the one I cannot live without: my eyeliner brush! It is absolutely FANTASTIC. You can use it with powder or liquid liner (I prefer powder). It is a firm, flat brush and makes applying eye liner quick and easy. All you do is dab your eyeliner brush into the powder and dab it on your lash line. It is not necessary to DRAW but rather just press the brush tip firmly to your eyelid and move to the next empty space etc until your eye is lined!
![]() |
| $25. Buy here: Brush 11 Precise Eye Lining |
For your face:
Brush #2b Sheer Blush
This is the best brush for applying blush! I love the shape; it allows for easy application of blush to the apples of my cheeks.
![]() |
| $48. Buy here: Brush 2b Sheer Blush |
Brush #37 Bronzer
I use this brush for bronzer but you could use it for loose powder too. It is soft, fluffy, and is great for covering a wider area. Absolutely fabulous!

| $68. Buy here: Brush 37 Bronzer |
I want to end by asking, would anyone be interested in me posting a VLOG (Video blog) of how I use the Trish eyeliner brush?? I think it is a GREAT technique and if there is interest, I would love to show everyone how I use it to apply eyeliner! Leave me a comment on this post if you’re interested!!!!
Thank you SO much for reading!!!

Ashley
Sealed with a Kiss: Bright and Bold Lips Fall 2011
October 14, 2011
Happy 1 month old birthday to my blog!!! I thought I would seal this birthday with a kiss and blog today about a Fall 2011 beauty trend I’m LOVING right now…bright and bold lips!!!
One problem I’ve had with creating a bright lip look is making it bright and bold enough…it seems a lot of the colors I buy are never as bright on my lips as they appear in the tube. That was the problem I had until I discovered the “Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color” lip pencils made by Urban Decay. I am absolutely in LOVE with this stuff! They are SO cool because they are in a tube like a lip pencil, but they go on creamy and bold like a lip stick. The shades can either be worn by themselves for a brighter, more matte look OR with gloss on top.
I own 2 colors, one a matte BRIGHT pink shade called “Crush”:

| Wearing "Adrenaline" on my b-day this year! |
You can buy these AMAZING lip pencils here from Sephora: Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color
And here are some pictures of how bright lips are being worn by celebrities:
![]() |
| Alexis Bledel with hot pink lips! Taylor Swift with her signature bright red lips! Emma Stone also with bright pink lips! |
A tip for wearing bright lips: keep the rest of your makeup simple! I also like to make sure that my bright lips don’t clash with my outfit...my favorite is to wear black and add a bright lip!
So what do you think of this beauty trend? Leave me a comment & tell me your thoughts!!! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend...I'm headed up to Knoxville to go to the UT game!!! Goooooo Vols!!!
Xoxo,
Ashley
