Tiffany Blue + Sparkles = NYE Nails!

December 31, 2012

Happy (almost) New Year Dolls!!

I love NYE because it means sparkle, sparkle and MORE sparkle! While I'm still trying to make the final decision on my OOTN, I for sure knew I wanted some nails that really shined (see my NYE nails last year HERE)! This is totally easy to do as there are SO many sparkly nail polishes out right now :)

One of my super sweet blogging (and longtime friends) Alexa at Southern Living Our Way sent me a Christmas gift in the mail including the AMAZING Tiffany blue nail polish from the Essie 2012 Holiday Collection called "Where's My Chauffeur?"!!! I have been SO excited to try this polish & it was such a perfect gift :) Thank you Alexa!!! So when I got my nails done I layered this beautiful shade...

Check out "Where's My Chauffeur?" HERE

...underneath a sparkly gold, turquoise, orange and silver glitter mixture by OPI called "The Living Daylights" (another awesome Christmas gift from my sweet boyfriend!!!)

And now I present to you my NYE nails:

So what are you wearing on your nails to ring in the New Year?! :) Leave me a comment and let me know!!!

I am so excited to see what 2013 brings!!! I appreciate each and every one of you who take the time to read, follow, and comment on my blog. You make this such a fun and exciting adventure for me!! :) I'm looking forward to continuing writing in 2013 and connecting with many new people through blogging!
I wish you a very Happy New Year!!!

XOXO

Essie 2012 Summer Collection

June 16, 2012

Helloooooo dolls!

One of my favorite things about summer is wearing bright and bold colors on my nails and toes that remind me of beaches, bikinis and beautiful sunshine! Essie’s new Summer 2012 Collection is just what the doctor ordered for beautiful summer nails!

I hope you can tell by my cheesy grin in the photo below that bright colored nails really ARE one of my fave things about summer....

I had a really hard time picking just one color from this adorable collection…they’re all just SO cute! Of course by the above picture you can probably guess which shade I went with. There are 6 colors ranging from a cornflower blue to a bright orange with equally cute names like “Bikini So Teeny”:

From left to right:
"Off the Shoulder," "Fear or Desire," "Mojito Madness," "Cascade Cool," "All Tied Up," and "Bikini So Teeny"

So as I hinted I of course picked the HOT pink shade “Off the Shoulder.”

To spice things up, we decided to add white stripes. Now if hot pink + white stripes doesn’t scream “summer” I don’t know what does!!!

My toes also joined in on the fun….

Check out the collection here!!! So have you tried any of these shades?! Leave me a comment & let me know dolls!!

XOXO,
Ashley

Bridal & Neutral Nails!

May 17, 2012

Hey dolls!

It’s almost June….everyone knows what that means- WEDDING season is fast approaching! Of course finding THE dress, THE shoes, THE man….all those things are VERY important but almost as important as finding all of those things is finding THE nail polish for the big day (errrrr....I guess finding nail polish isn't near as important as finding the man haha)! Of course even if you’re not getting married, this postmay be of interest to you …last month at my high school reunion, a friend who is in medical school asked me about good neutral shades to wear because she’s not allowed to wear colored polish. So whether you’re getting married, not allowed to wear bright colors because of your job, or if you’re just in the mood for a natural look, keep on readin’ because I’m going to show you my favorite neutral shades!

OPI has a collection out right now that has some great shades that would be perfect for a bride or a bridal party called New York City Ballet Soft Shades.

From top to bottom: Barre My Soul, You Callin' Me A Lyre?, Don't Touch My Tutu!, Care to Danse?, My Pointe Exactly & Pirouette My Whistle.

The shades on the left side of this sample have a coat of the silver glitter “Pirouette My Whistle.”

Of these pretty shades I got “You Callin’ Me A Lyre?” when I got my nails done a few weeks ago. It you’re looking for a light pink shade this one definitely fits that description! This shade is also ideal just for a neutral look even if not for a wedding.

OPI "You Callin' Me A Lyre?"

When I was in Ulta I also spotted the “Best of Soft Shades” by OPI collection that is out now. This collection has some GREAT options for a bride OR for a neutral nail. If you want a light pink shade, try Bubble Bath & Pink-ing of You (which is a bit more of a bubblegum pink shade than Bubble Bath).

However if you’re wanting a more nude shade with tan undertones, try the following:

Mimosas for Mr. & Mrs.

Samoan Sand

Now not to leave Essie out of this bridal polish post, I wanted to include the Essie Wedding Collection2012. It includes 4 shades “Love & Acceptance,” “Who Is The Boss,” “Instant Hot,” and “Like to Be Bad.” This collection includes a very pretty lavender “Love & Acceptance” which would be a lovely alternative to pale pink for a bride.

I tried the shade “Instant Hot” which was appears to be another great option for a neutral nail….

So whether you’re a bride looking for a shade for your upcoming walk down the aisle or you’re just in the mood for a neutral nail…I hope this post has given you some ideas!!!

Let me know what you think of these colors & leave me a comment. Or tell me, what are your favorite neutral shades?

Thank you as always for reading dolls!
XOXO,
Ashley

St. Patrick Day Nails & Essie’s Spring 2012 Collection

March 7, 2012

Good evening dolls!

I hope everyone is having a fabulous week! It’s time for another nail post tonight…but this time I wanted to do something a little different!

Instead of my typical nail post where I show you pictures and explain what polish I used, I wanted to do a video blog (VLOG) where I talk about the colors I got on my nails & toes! I was just THAT excited about this new collection (Essie's Spring 2012 Collection!). Click the play button to watch my video review & see my nails in action lol:

****NOTE: This video is missing since the hacking. I am trying to recover it! Please bear with me!!!

So as I mentioned in the video I wanted to include a picture of my nails as well so you could see the glitter top coat a little better:

Top Coat: OPI Muppet Collection "Fresh Frog of Bel-Air"
Bottom Coat: Essie Spring Collection 2012 "Navigate Her"

Check out the mini set I show in the video from Ulta by clicking this link.

So have you tried Essie’s new Spring 2012 collection? What are your thoughts?! Leave me a comment & let me know!

Be sure to tune in to another Spreecast I'll be chiming in on TONIGHT about Bravo’s Real Housewives of OC, Atlanta, and Bethenny Ever After at 10 pm EST/7 pm CST!!! Tune in HERE!

Thank you SO much lovely readers!

My New Year's Eve Nails!

December 28, 2011

Hello lovely readers! I hope everyone is having a great week so far! Who is ready for New Year’s Eve (NYE)?! One of the reasons I absolutely love this holiday is because it is totally acceptable to wear tons of sparkles, sequins & glitter….all of my favorite things! To be completely NYE ready, it is totally necessary to have nails that sparkle and shine!!!

Nothing says NYE to me more than black and silver glitter so I wanted to combine the two instead of having a solid glitter nail! In particular, I wanted a French manicure using silver glitter and black. The silver glitter I have on is from Essie’s Luxeffects Glitter Topcoat Holiday 2011 Collection called “Set In Stones.” Check out the collection HERE….it is SO fabulous. Essie’s “Set In Stones” is a different look than OPI’s “Crown Me Already!” (which is also a silver glitter I had on my nails HERE) in that the Essie glitter particles themselves are bigger so it creates an overall shinier look. The black color I used is OPI’s “Black Onyx.”

Here is how they turned out:

As you can see, I got a French manicure with 3 coats of silver glitter on the nail bed and black on the tips. On my ring fingers I used black on the nail bed (with 1 coat of silver glitter) and the silver glitter (3 coats) on the tips.

So are you going to have a sparkly nail look on NYE?! Leave me a comment & tell me your favorite NYE nail look!!!

Thank you for reading!!!

Xoxo,
Ashley
