The Essentials: Pink, Polka Dots & Pearls!

Hi dolls!
The next statement I am about to make will be no surprise to those who know me in real life, but 3 of my favorite things in life are pink, polka dots, & pearls! I love all of these things because to me they are the epitome of girly. There's nothing more feminine than pink and it has seriously been my favorite color since I can remember. Polka dots are just plain CUTE and are seriously one of my favorite patterns. And pearls, well to sum up my love of pearls: I'm a southern girl and pearls are just plain CLASSY! So, you can imagine my excitement when I found the CUTEST polka dotted shorts at Old Navy along with this HOT pink sleeveless top at TJ Maxx last week! Also, the Stella & Dot pearl necklace I wore with the top and shorts is one of my favorite jewelry staples. Here's how I styled my pink, polka dots, & pearls...

Tea With Nana!

Happy Wednesday!
Hope y'all are having a fabulous week! The title of this blog post makes me so happy :). I absolutely love going to eat lunch with my Nana at a local Tea Cottage (read back on when I got tea with Nana when I first started this blog HERE). It's just the epitome of femininity to me: dressing up, sipping peach sweet tea, enjoying the delicious lunch served on flower-trimmed china, and sharing in a heart-to-heart with my grandmother! That's what being a girl is all about! I absolutely love it. So, to get tea with my Nana yesterday, I decided to wear a girly blue and white polka dotted peplum top, white pants & heels! :) Can't go wrong with peplum in my book. I'm seriously obsessed with these peplum tops lately! :) Here's how my look turned out...

Yummy! Writing this post made me hungry again :) See what I mean about the pretty china?! It was such a great day. I just love spending time with my precious Nana--moments I will remember the rest of my life! Every time I'm with her she reminds me of how much she is always praying for me and it's amazing how God's love is constantly revealed to me through those in my life such as Nana! :)

Lace & Denim

Hi dolls!
Hope y'all had a fantastic weekend & are having a good start to your week! So last week I had a mini shopping trip around town and found the absolute CUTEST denim shorts at Old Navy. I bought 2 pairs (a light and dark denim) and to make it even better they were both on sale!! To me denim shorts are a staple for the spring/summer. I just love the way they can be worn with literally anything (I mean, if I'm being honest, I'll be wearing them with cowgirl boots to a few country concerts this summer)! :) The ones I'm wearing below are a lighter wash which I think is even more summer-y (just made that a word! lol). ALSO, I love the look of denim with lace. This lace top was also on sale for only $10 from Charlotte Russe & can be worn on or off the shoulders! I love versatile tops like that! When I wore this last Friday, I felt like off the shoulders was more fun! Here's how my OOTD turned out...

Little (Blue) Dress!

Happy Friday y'all!!
Boy do I always love seeing Friday roll around! I'm so excited because I'm headed to see my brilliant & beautiful cousin (& not to mention one of my dearest BFFs) graduate from grad school! She's one beautiful smartie pants and I'm really excited to spend the weekend celebrating with her! :) So check back in a couple of days for some pictures & a weekend recap!
So, have any of y'all ever bought something a few years ago and then find the exact same item in a different color & just HAVE to buy it? You may have an inkling you have something very similar tucked away in your closet at home...but you're still thinking you HAVE to have it because it's a different, newer, BETTER color!? Am I the only one? Well this happened to me this week when I was shopping. I found this really super cute blue dress at Ross...thinking to myself, oh this looks SO similar to the green one I have at home...but I don't care because, you guessed it, I LOVE the color! So when I get home I dig new blue dress' twin out of my closet...to find that they are indeed the exact same dress...I'm talking the same brand and everything. I guess I know what I like...and at least I got a new color, right!? Anyway, I do love this dress. It's cotton and SO light weight and perfect for a hot spring/summer day! Here's how I styled it...

"Business in the Front, Party in the Back" (no, I didn't get a mullet!!)

Hi dolls!
I have always loved peplum tops and I am SO excited to see so many in stores this season! :) I recently bought the one I'm wearing below at TJ Maxx (seriously been finding THE cutest tops there lately!) for.....wait for it....$5.50! Yes, you read that right, FIVE dollars and fifty CENTS! What a steal!! From the front it looks just like a simple white peplum top but from the back there is a super cute cutout! I just love tops/dresses that have super cute backs. Reminds me of the saying about mullets...."business in the front, party in the back." Kind of like this shirt, no!? Also...I can never get enough yellow. It just screams spring! Here's how my look turned out...
